Cubs Fans Ecstatic To See Baez At Wrigley Field And The Feeling Is Mutual

For Ex-Cub Javy Baez, Striking Out With the Tigers Nights are More Tragic Than Magic

Cubs Fans Ecstatic To See Baez At Wrigley Field, And The Feeling Is Mutual

Cubs Honored Baez Before The Game, And Not A Dry Eye Stayed Still

Javy Baez has endured a trying time since signing a six-year, $140 million contract with the Detroit Tigers.

The man once known as "El Mago" has mysteriously lost his magic in a season filled with strikeouts. In a recent game against his former team, the Chicago Cubs, Baez went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Cubs fans were ecstatic to see Baez back at Wrigley Field, and the feeling was mutual. Cubs manager David Ross praised Baez's energy before the game.

"He's a special player and a great person," Ross said. "We're always happy to see him, and I know our fans are too."

Magic Moments Have Gone Missing For Baez

In his final season with the Cubs, Baez was a key part of the team's World Series victory. He hit .290 with 23 home runs and 111 RBIs.

But in Detroit, Baez has struggled at the plate and in the field. He's hitting just .238 with 10 home runs and 49 RBIs this season.

Baez Still Struggling At The Plate

At Wrigley, Baez struck out four times against Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks, contributing to Detroit's 14 strikeouts in the game.

The Tigers have now lost 11 of their last 13 games and are in danger of missing the playoffs for the sixth straight season.

Can Baez Turn Things Around?

It remains to be seen whether Baez can turn things around this season. He's still just 29 years old, and he has a proven track record of success.

But for now, Baez is struggling to find his magic in Detroit. And Cubs fans are happy to see him back at Wrigley Field, but they know that he's not the same player he once was.
